Entertaining but annoying
First off, i absolutely love the atmosphere of the game. The art was ok, I did like the style but the proportions were off, and the animation was choppy and unrealistic at points. The backgrounds however were excellent, combined with the ambience, mystery involving Ira and Jonathan's daughter, and the very well done voice acting created a brooding mood.
The game was very well built until a point, I will admit, I laughed at the design of the locusts. I mean seriously, who would openly be afraid of that. The weird design, whilst fitting in with the story seriously killed the mood for me.
The minigames were possible, but unnecessarily hard in my opinion. The RC car one was plain annoying, due to the invisible traps, and the shotgun one was very difficult. However, i did like the amount of detail put into that shotgun segment, compared to the things you see in other point and click adventure games this was actually very well made. The shotgun reacts realistically, and the reload animation had me going each time. But what i most enjoyed about the segment was the appearance of the corpses, the headless man in the office as well as Rick. Those really set the horror mood. Otherwise, having to shoot that many enemies at once with only two shots took alot of tries. However, it did do a job in grabbing my attention once more.
Also, finally, whats up with the cat puzzle? The idea of luring a group of flies over
to a cat with a makeshift flamethrower was ridiculous, even more that the overall idea was to get the burnt cat to block the mirror. I did not find it funny.
In the end however, i did enjoy this game very much, the ending cut scenes really wrapped the game up very well, and i commend you for your storytelling abilities.
